Project Desert Water
Palm Springs, Ca.
The Desert Water Agency is the water utility for the Palm Springs, California area including outlying county areas, Desert Hot Springs, part of Cathedral City, and Palm Springs. Desert Water Agency hopes that the recent statewide drought will highlight the importance of their water supplies and water infrastructure. Desert Water Agency is somewhat of a hero of natural resources. They have been recycling water since 1988 for irrigation use, which saves millions of gallons of potable groundwater each year. They also have a 100-yard solar field where they help generate energy to offset their water use. The slideshow of pictures below shows how SoCal Solar Energy was involved in Project Desert Water and what we did to contribute our efforts to this commercial project. In this particular project, we used Shell Solar SP175 with an Xantrex PV inverter. This helps to save more than ninety percent in energy bills.
